Different Fits for Different Swimmers

Depending on which type of category you fall into, there will be different types of swimsuit available to you. At Decathlon, we have a wide range on offer from our swimming brand, Nabaiji. Here’s how to select the right one for you.

Swimsuits for Women and Girls

If you’re just starting out with swimming and learning your first strokes, your first priority will be comfort.

Nabaiji boasts a range of beginners’ swimwear for women with optimum comfort and support. Within that range, there are different types of shapes to meet different needs.

U-Shaped Back - Easiest to put on
H-Shaped Back - Provides more support
V-Shaped Back - Also provides extra support, and is available in one-piece or two-piece models
X-shaped Back - Better freedom of movement

Intermediate swimmers will need to prioritise freedom of movement, as well as resistance to chlorine. Thankfully, Nabaiji offers excellent chlorine resistance, providing protection for up to 200 hours of use. In terms of shape, an X-shaped of O-shaped back would be best.

If you’re an advanced swimmer who trains intensively, you’ll need a swimsuit with a very open back and a high notch at the thigh to allow for freedom of movement in every stroke. Competitive swimmers can opt for our FINA-approved models.

Swimsuits for Men and Boys

For men who are beginners in the pool, there are several types of swimwear for men to choose from, including briefs and different lengths of swimming shorts.

At this stage, swimmers can opt for whatever is most comfortable.

Intermediate and advanced swimmers should choose something that provides more support for their movements. For that reason, jammers or long swim shorts that provide more coverage would be best.
